Additional arbitrary fields possible?

Hello,

is it possible to add arbitrary fields to tests and its result (like additional information "details") or are the resulting fields bound to NUnit's output?

Best regards

Could you detail your idea and put a sample? I'm not sure to understand your idea.

Sure!
Imagine you have test cases with description, system and assert query. Now, you would like to add a field to the test cases for further information e.g. a query for more detailed data if the test fails. Is it possible to find this field as a custom field in the result file as well? I would guess, that NUnits output fields for the xml-result file are clearly defined and not customizable. However, do you know if this is true?
Thanks!

If the test is failing I guess that you’ve the stack trace in the xml output. If yes, I could add new fields such as “tip” inside the test and just let them in the stack trace.

Yes, this sounds like an option! I have this requirement in one project, however, do you think, this would be help across all NBi projects?

I see it useful in some cases

I've implemented this, as the "trait" element. It's available in a commit-build and documented there.
